Investment Research Training That Goes Beyond Theory

Look, most finance courses teach you how to read a balance sheet and call it a day. But when you're actually trying to evaluate whether a company is worth your attention—or your capital—you need more than textbook formulas.

We built this program around practical research skills because we've spent years doing this work ourselves. Not in simulation. In actual market conditions where mistakes cost real money and good analysis can uncover genuine opportunities.

Our training focuses on developing the judgment and analytical frameworks that separate decent research from truly insightful work. You'll learn to spot what matters in financial data, understand business models that actually hold up under scrutiny, and communicate findings that people can act on with confidence.

What You'll Actually Learn

We've structured this around four core modules. Each one builds specific skills you'll use immediately when analyzing companies and markets. Classes start in February 2026, running for eight months.

  • Reading beyond the numbers to understand business quality
  • Cash flow patterns that reveal operational strength
  • Spotting accounting adjustments that hide problems
  • Comparing companies across different industries fairly

Business Model Evaluation

  • Understanding economic moats and their durability
  • Assessing management quality through actions, not words
  • Evaluating industry dynamics and market positioning

Valuation Frameworks

  • Scenario analysis for uncertain outcomes
  • Margin of safety concepts in practice

Research Communication

Real Analysis, Real Skills

We don't teach from hypothetical case studies written ten years ago. Every session uses current market examples and actual company data. You'll work through the same kinds of challenges professional analysts face when evaluating opportunities.

And here's something different—we bring in guest analysts from various firms quarterly to discuss how they approach research in their specific contexts. Asset managers think differently than credit analysts, who think differently than equity researchers. Understanding these perspectives makes your work better.
